Why is it difficult to achieve deep dewatering in sludge treatment?

At present, why is it difficult for sludge treatment in various industries to achieve the effect of deep dewatering?

According to the different characteristics of sludge, the deep dewatering treatment of sludge is difficult:

1) The characteristics of sludge contain many organic substances, many bacteria, changeable properties, easy corrosion and high incidence of infectious diseases, and sludge contains many harmful substances, both organic and inorganic. The deep dewatering operation of mud brings great obstacles;

2) The sludge has a high moisture content and often has a colloidal structure. When the structure of the sludge mixture is complex, its deep dewatering is difficult;

According to different industries, the characteristics of the sludge produced are also different, and it is difficult for the technical equipment to deal with the deep dewatering of the sludge to meet the requirements of the deep dewatering of the sludge:

1) Municipal sludge industry: sludge in this industry has high calorific value; rich in nutrients; high content of heavy metals; fecal coliform value exceeds the requirements of resource utilization standards; high moisture content of sludge is difficult to handle. Due to the addition of flocculant, even after mechanical dehydration treatment such as plate frame and belt conveyor, its water content is still as high as 75%, which is difficult for further disposal and utilization.

2) Petrochemical industry: Petrochemical sludge usually contains a large amount of organic matter, metals, hydrocarbons, and oils, with high moisture content and large volume, and belongs to hazardous waste sludge. The sludge resistance is dozens of times larger than ordinary sludge, the compression coefficient is higher, the moisture content is higher, and the composition is complex.

3) Printing and dyeing industry: With the high development of the printing and dyeing industry in my country, the amount of sludge produced by the printing and dyeing industry is also very large. Its characteristics are: the sludge itself has a low calorific value and a high content of heavy metals.
Printing and dyeing sludge contains a large amount of chemical residues, and it is difficult to dewater deeply due to the high proportion of internal water. become a social problem that needs to be solved urgently.

4) Leather industry: The output of leather sludge is large, and the sludge contains a lot of fur, blood, etc., with high organic content and high trivalent chromium content. It can also be converted into hexavalent chromium, which is serious carcinogenic. The deep dehydration process is relatively complicated due to the high content of substances, miscellaneous substances, and high bacterial infection rate.

5) Papermaking industry: Papermaking waste pulp sludge contains many precipitation substances, which can also be called biological sludge, which can be divided into fine fibers, lignin and its derivatives, and some organic substances. The production of alkali recovery white mud in paper sludge is white mud recovery, which is the product of caustic reaction. Papermaking waste pulp sludge also contains deinking sludge. Deinking sludge is produced during the deinking process of waste paper, and its components are extremely complex, such as: cellulose fibers and fillers and coatings in the original paper, short fibers, outgoing The slag and most of the ink particles are mainly composed of inorganic and organic substances. Papermaking sludge is a biological solid waste, which not only contains a large amount of cellulose organic mechanism with a large ash content, and plant nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, but also contains pathogens, which are easily corrupted and smelly. At present, according to the complex structure and composition of papermaking sludge, deep dewatering has also become a major problem for major papermaking enterprises.

6) Waterway and river industry: The treatment of waterway and river sludge is more complicated than that of industrial sludge, and it is more difficult to handle than industrial sludge. Due to the river carrying and scouring soil, crop waste, various types of garbage (inorganic and organic waste) generated in life, various types of garbage and waste exhaust produced in industry, sludge deposition in the waterway is caused. This kind of sludge has many components, such as mud quality, mud quantity, and sludge structure, and it is messy. Therefore, it is difficult to formulate suitable solutions for deep dewatering of sludge.

In view of the fact that various industrial sludges have their own characteristics, BZ Solids Control adopts different technical solutions according to different treatment requirements. At present, the BZ Solids Control sludge deep dewatering system has proven successful cases in the fields of port dredging, river dredging, waterway dredging, reservoir dredging, and river sewage treatment.
