The two core equipment of the shield mud-water separation and treatment system

In the field of shield tunneling, the cyclone separation system and drilling fluid centrifugal separation system in the mud-water separation system are the key technologies for mud-water separation.

mud recycling systemCyclone separation system.

The cyclone separation system is mainly composed of a cyclone desander and a cyclone desilter. First, it is separated by a drilling fluid vibrating screen, and the separated granular mud is then refined by a cyclone to treat mud water particles of different diameters. Better control of the solid phase is achieved.

How the cyclone separation system works

Under the action of pressure, the muddy water enters the cyclone separation system at a high speed through the pipeline, and performs a swirling motion in the cylindrical wall shell. The speed of the fine particles moving to the wall of the vessel is small, and is driven by the flowing liquid in the center to be discharged from the upper center overflow pipe, so that the mud is coarsely and finely classified.

Advantages of drilling fluid centrifugal separation system.

1. The centrifugal separator is a key component to ensure that all the muddy water can be separated into dry soil in the end. Part of the bentonite mud water after being treated by the whirlpool system can enter the mud pool and be re-circulated to the shield mud silo for continuous use, which saves construction costs, and the excess mud water must be specially treated to be separated into dry soil.

2. The diameter of soil particles contained in the muddy water treated by the vortex system is small, and flocculant needs to be added to the muddy water. The flocculant and the fine soil particles aggregate into particles with larger diameters, which are pumped to the centrifugal separator for separation. The separated solid particles can be directly transported out, and the separated purified water has high purity, which can be used to prepare new pulp or directly discharged to the municipal rainwater pipe network. The entire centrifuge is programmed to operate fully automatically, including the calculation of the amount of flocculant added.
