How to use solids control equipment to control horizontal well drilling well?

In recent years, with the vigorous promotion of horizontal directional wells, benefits have increased at the same time as well control risks have greatly increased, and the requirements for well control during drilling have become higher and higher. Necessity of upgrading solid control equipment:

1. Upgrade of mud purification and recovery system

The mud purification and recovery system is an important link for the drilling construction unit to recover useful mud, chemically mix the mud, and provide reliable mud for drilling. At the same time, it can also provide weighted slurry for the well site and balance the pressure of the drilling well site to ensure drilling safety. At present, most drilling construction units use mud pits to be dug at the well site for natural sedimentation, that is, the inability to re-separate and recycle causes great waste, and there are environmental risks and safety hazards.

Solution: Choose a regular solids control manufacturer, fully design the mud treatment process, rationally layout, and carefully manufacture to fully recover and reduce pollution.

2. Upgrade of weighting device

At present, most horizontal well construction teams are equipped with only a few circulation tanks on site, and no heavy mud storage tanks. After the overflow and shut-in, personnel can only be organized to counterweight slurry on site. Some construction site tools are simple, and the circulation tank cannot be weighted in time, causing the following risks: (1) After closing the well, you can only wait for the on-site counterweight slurry. The well can be killed after the heavy mud is added, which delays the killing time and increases the risk of well control; (2) The long time shutting in the well and waiting for the heavy mud may cause further downhole complications, such as stuck drilling and well collapse.

Solution: It is recommended that heavy pulp storage tanks be mandatory, and heavy pulp must be stored on site. Another jet-weighted funnel must be equipped on site, so that the double funnel is aggravated and also played an emergency role.

3. Upgrading of the packaging tonnage of on-site heavy materials

The weighting materials used on site are basically barite weighting materials packed in small bags, that is, a small bag of 25KG, which is more convenient in the usual weighting process. However, in the process of overflowing counterweight pulp, due to the high density of heavy pulp required, it is required to configure it in a short time, which requires heavy responsibilities and labor intensity.

Solution: It is recommended that small bags of weighting materials can be used in the normal weighting process, but after a dangerous situation occurs, the large tonnage packaging weighting materials should be immediately transferred from the emergency warehouse, that is, a bag of 1 ton, and the crane is used directly to the circulating tank on site Intensified, shortened the aggravation time, eased the labor intensity of workers, and gained time for killing wells.

4. Toxic and harmful gas monitoring equipment upgrade

At present, the toxic and hazardous gas monitoring equipment used on site are all four-in-one gas monitors. At the same time, it is required to install electronic toxic and hazardous gas monitors at the mud outlet. However, there are the following problems in use: (l) Logging installation The electronic monitor is installed at the mud outlet, but the monitoring personnel are sitting in a special monitoring room 30 meters away from the well head. There is a special person responsible for monitoring and can be detected in time. However, after discovering abnormal conditions, it takes time to report to the on-site construction personnel , Can not report in time; (2) The staff on duty wear a four-in-one monitor, but they need to regularly measure the changes in the mud level and move around, so that abnormal situations cannot be found in the first time.

Solution: Install toxic and harmful gas sound and light alarms at the mud outlet. At the same time, the well team must install fixed toxic and harmful gas monitoring and alarm devices at the wellhead, drill floor, vibrating screen, and circulation tank to detect and report in time.

At the same time, the following points should also be done:

1. Upgrade well control equipment well, install semi-sealed + annular blowout preventer at the wellheads of all horizontal wells in construction; replace the recovery pipeline with high-pressure fire-resistant hose; configure heavy slurry storage tank and jet funnel; use large-ton bag after overflow Material; equipped with sound and light alarm and fixed toxic and harmful gas monitor;

2. Increase on-site well control management and training to improve on-site well control management;

3. Improve geological and engineering design, and specify the situation of water injection wells in detail;

4. Strictly implement the blowout prevention exercise system.
